How Lightwell Windows Fort Worth Was Born in Fort Worth

When we opened our doors here, Fort Worth already had plenty of window companies. What it didn’t have, in our view, was enough of them that treated a family’s home like it actually belonged to a family. We’d walked through houses where a previous crew had left glass shards in the flower bed, scuffed door frames with ladders, and handed over a final bill that didn’t match anything discussed on day one. Homeowners told us they felt like an inconvenience in their own homes. That stuck with us.

Bringing Lightwell Windows & Doors to Fort Worth wasn’t about planting a flag. It was about building a local team that would work to the standard the brand was built on: a written price before any work starts, shoe covers and drop cloths inside the house, quiet tools when the kids are asleep, and a photo of the clean-up before we leave. We wanted Fort Worth families to know that a window or door replacement could feel calm from the first phone call to the final walkthrough. That’s the branch we set out to build here, and it’s the branch we’ve run every day since.

Keith Yamada’s Personal Connection to the Windows & Doors Trade

Keith Yamada came into this trade through the side of it most people never see: what a bad install does to a house over time. Early in his working life, he was called into homes where windows had been put in wrong years earlier. He saw the water stains trailing down drywall, felt the draft coming through a closed sash on a cold morning, and watched homeowners discover that the “lifetime” promise they’d been given wasn’t attached to anyone still reachable. The problem was rarely the window itself. It was the care taken around it.

That’s what pulled him in. Not the glass, exactly, but the gap between what a family was told and what they actually got. He learned the trade the slow way: watching how a properly flashed opening sheds water, how a level matters more than speed, how a door that’s hung half an inch off will tell you it’s wrong every time you close it. The work got into his hands. There’s a particular satisfaction in trimming out a new window and seeing daylight fall across a clean floor, dust carried out in bags instead of left in the carpet. It’s quiet work with a visible result, and that matters to him.

If he weren’t doing this, he’d probably still be working with his hands somewhere, fixing something that needed fixing. That’s the through-line. What gets him out of bed is a job schedule with real addresses on it: a house in Wedgwood with a fogged picture window, a 1960s ranch in Ridglea with original aluminum frames that have turned gray, a new build in Walsh where the builder-grade windows never quite sealed right. Each one is someone’s home. The work means something because the house means something to the people in it.

Meet Keith Yamada – The Person Behind Every Job

Keith Yamada is the Owner & Founder of this Fort Worth branch of Lightwell Windows & Doors. He’s spent more than a decade working in windows and doors, and he’s the person who sets the tone for how our crew treats your home: calmly, carefully, and with an eye toward the details that show up after we leave. He believes the best compliment a customer can give is that it felt like the work was done by someone who lives there.

Outside the job, Keith is a creature of habit. He likes an early breakfast, a quiet morning, and a clean truck before the first stop of the day. He’s particular about his own house, which is exactly why he’s particular about yours. His commitment to customers is simple: if we wouldn’t be proud to show our work to our own family, we’re not done yet.

Our Promise to Fort Worth Homeowners

Every job we take on in Fort Worth gets a written price before any work starts. Not a ballpark, not a handshake, not a “we’ll see how it goes.” A written price. That’s the foundation, and it’s non-negotiable. We’ve heard from too many homeowners who watched a number grow after materials were already ordered and the old window was already out. That doesn’t happen on our watch.

We also work to the C.A.R.E. code on every job: we clean up like it’s our own home, we ask before we move or touch anything, we respect the family’s time and quiet hours, and we explain the price before the work. Those aren’t slogans. They’re the instructions our crew gets before they ring the doorbell. If there’s a dog at the door, we ask where he’d be most comfortable. If a baby’s napping, we keep the noise down. It’s basic decency, but in this industry it’s rarer than it should be.

Our Credentials

  • State-licensed professionals: every pro working under our name is required to hold the license and insurance their state requires.
  • Insured & bonded: coverage is in place to protect your home and our crew while we’re working on it.
  • Local experience: years of installing and replacing windows and doors in Fort Worth’s specific climate, from July heat to February ice.
  • Strong local reputation: our business is built on neighbors telling neighbors, which in Fort Worth is the only advertising that really counts.

Why these things matter to you: someone working inside your home should be accountable long after the truck pulls away. If anything goes wrong, you shouldn’t be left holding the bag. And local experience means we know what Fort Worth weather does to a window, because we’ve seen it happen on real houses in real neighborhoods, not in a training manual.

Rooted in Fort Worth

We know our service area street by street. We’ve worked in older neighborhoods along Camp Bowie where window openings aren’t perfectly square, in newer subdivisions around Alliance with tall ceilings and oversized glass, and everywhere in between. We know that a west-facing window in a Fort Worth summer is a different animal than one in a shaded bungalow off Hemphill. That local knowledge isn’t optional. It’s the whole job.
